The
"Evening Circle", as we are called, is one of the two Trinity
Ladies' Bible study Groups. We meet monthly - 2nd Tuesday at 7:30
p.m. in the Church Parlor. (The Men's Bible study is held at the
same time elsewhere in the church).
We
use the Augsburg Fortress "Lutheran Woman Today" for our
lesson plans. Rotating volunteers serve as leaders (no one is
forced to be a leader.). It is very good material. Right now
we are studying the women in the Bible, discussing the relevance these
stories have to our own times and decisions. We offer prayers and
have abundant fellowship.
Quarterly,
we have a combined Saturday 9:30 a.m. Brunch/Business meeting with the
Morning Circle - good food and
fellowship.
We
decide how to spend our resources, which accumulate from free-will
offerings, garage sales, bake sales, memorials, etc. All money is
directed toward community causes, building refurbishments, supplementing
the organ fund, helping kids to to Summer Camp, and other worthwhile
charities.
The
first Tuesday of December we look forward to our annual
"Progressive Dinner, white elephant gift exchange", (we used
to progress from house-to-house, but now we just progress from
table-to-table in the church Fellowship hall). It is open to all
ladies, especially new members and visitors, as they will feel like
old-timers after a night of feasting, fun and laughter fighting over the
white elephant gift exchange. Mark you calendar, you are really
missing out if you pass this one up.
Also
we work with the Morning Circle to dress teddy bears and stuff stockings
for the Salvation Army's Annual distribution of goodies.

Blessings
to all,
Mary
Matz,

Circle Chairman
